Why bloggers love The Olympus Pen E-PL8!

I did it. I caved. I bought THE blogger's favourite camera. The new Olympus Pen E-PL8 in white. For £500 this little thing isn't cheap, but, it is gorgeous.

For photos:
With the kit 14-42mm lens, the camera already takes stunning photos. Many bloggers and photographers have instagrams or posts full of beautiful images shot with the lens. Some opt to purchase the 45mm lens also, for extra background blur/depth of field. You can also focus the camera on the subject by simply pressing on them on the touch screen and it take the photo instantly!

For filming:
As you may or may not know, I do have a YT channel of which I post montargy videos such as my trip to Amsterdam back in Feb. Although I don't have the time to sit and film, or a terribly exciting life enough to vlog, having something to record on was still a big part of my decision. I needed something quick to focus, not as heavy or bulky as my big DSLR but also something that worked in low light. Check check check.

A point that most people make is that because the screen flips out downwards, you can't have the camera sitting down whilst being able to see yourself. However I don't agree with this being an issue however as you can connect it to the free Olympus app and use your phone as a viewfinder, to start/stop record, import images and videos and to even turn the camera off if needed.

Over all I'm completely in love with this camera. I can't recommend it enough and, although I'm still learning how to use it, it's the little features, like the touch screen or inbuilt wifi, that give it the edge.
