My wedding day accessories

The quickest year of my life. One minute it's Christmas day and theres a new ring, and the next its midnight on my wedding day and everyone is saying goodbye. I miss the hit tub with the girls the night before. The 5am bath because I couldn't sleep any longer. Sneaking a peak through the window at the boys arriving. No wedding day is perfect, but ours was pretty spot on.

I'm excited to bring you a mini wedding series, about our suppliers, venue, and everything in between. Today I'll bring you the details of my details.

Classic was my go to search bar word. I wanted classic shapes, pearls, gold jewellery. I was very prepared to spend quite a bit of money on my wedding day jewellery, however when I found these Liberty In Love pieces, I was very impressed with the price point. The earrings are 14k gold plated, delicate zirconia crystals and ivory teardrop pearls, at £35. The necklace at £37, features a glass pearl. I'll be saving these for all anniversaries and special occasions. So glad I found them.

My perfume was of course, Jo Malone. We popped into the Lakeside store for their wedding scent experience, and came out with the Poppy & Barley fragrance, body cream and a couple of minis. The stores allow you add engraving to bottles, so I went for a Mrs on the lid, Mr on his, and our date on the front.

My shoes were a fab choice too. under £40 from Be Mind Bridal. Again, I wanted something classic, pearl and a block heel. Super comfy and the only came off at 10pm.

An now onto my dress! In February 2025 I booked an appointment at Abigail's Collection in Colchester. After trying on a few dresses, I knew the second one I tried was it for me when I compared everything else to it. The dress is Alegra by Eva Lendel. A folded neckline and a big bow. The front dress is separate from the train, although this didn't detach, which I quite liked.

Alterations were made by a recommended seamstress and after one session it was perfect. Couples that choose both their dresses and suits from Abigail's collection, and their menswear shop The Groom's Room, are given a discount also.

My veil was by Aasile Veils, a new brand with gorgeous designs too.

My wedding may be over but I've decided that being a bride isn't, until at least the honeymoon in a few months time.
