I cannot explain to you the grandeur of this hotel. With a spa, golf facilities and of course a classic afternoon tea, this hotel is not one to be missed. The current house dates back to the 18th century, and you really do feel like you're in a little bit of history when you walk through.
We were taken straight through to the restaurant, a gorgeous room with tables and sofas, leading out into the most stunning garden I've ever seen. The afternoon tea itself was, as expected, glorious. Soft sandwiches, the nicest tarts I have tried, and the best part is, of course, the scones. We had extra sandwiches too and took any extra cakes home that we simply couldn't eat.
We took a stroll around the garden and it is truly lovely. The estate is so large that we didn't hear a sound. It would be the perfect wedding venue I must admit, or a lovely little treat for a loved one with a weekend away or afternoon tea gift.
