PR stay*
The hotel
The room was large, with a gloriously sized bed, sofa area, and large bathroom. There is a coffee machine, separate shower and a bottle of hot chocolate ready for bedtime too. The view from room 6 is the lovely little courtyard at the back of the hotel. I'm not sure who owns the little garden, as you're unable to access it from the room, but it was just nice to sit and watch it in the morning with a cup of tea regardless.
In the dining room of the hotel is an honesty bar. Whilst I don't drink, the bar is a lovely little idea for guests to wind down with in the evening after a long day in the city. Breakfast in the morning is served in this dining room, or in the bedrooms themselves once pre-booked at reception. We opted for toast, cereal and some croissants, washed down with some juice and tea.
The local area
Notting Hill is, of course, famous in itself. The hotel is situated in an Instagram hotspot, close to Portobello Road, and a stones throw from some of my favourite spots. For a quick spot to eat, we opted for cream tea at Patisserie Valerie, about a 10-15 minute walk away from the hotel. For dinner it was Franco Manca, my favourite place for sourdough pizza. The hotel is close to stations such as Notting Hill Gate and Holland Park, where a fabulous pub called The Mitre is situated, somewhere we always opt for on a sunny afternoon for a slice of avo on toast.
Would I return to The Portobello Hotel? Absolutely. The hotel is lovely and somewhere I urge you to visit when stopping over in Notting Hill. Click here for my reel of the stay.
The stay was kindly gifted from Red Letter Days but all views are my own.

Christmas is FINALLY upon us, and whether you celebrate the birth of the big man or not, you won't be able to miss the festive cheer that's taken over the city. Today I bring you a short list of my favourite London hotspots to gather all of that holiday goodness before (or after) the big day arrives!
Covent Garden
On a recent trip to GC I stumbled (not planned AT ALL) across the prettiest displays. From a car filled with flowers, to a christmas bush. It's a thing. There are so many different displays at Covent Garden this year, so no matter what way you approach it, you'll be bound to see a line of bloggers waiting for a photo.
Oxford Circus
The lights are now up, and whilst the day time may seem full of shoppers running around like headless chickens (I never understood that tbh), the street is a sight to behold come the 6pm night time. Regent Street and London Zoo are amongst the many other places where the light displays have made headlines this year too.
Peggy Porschen
I won't dwell on Peggy's because we've heard it all before. BUT their festive coffees and hot chocolates do look pretty special this year, but you won't find me standing in that queue this time around.
Christmas Markets
From Winter Wonderland (a yearly favourite), to the Southbank, there are so many Christmas markets covering the country, never mind just London. My favourite is the former, and a yearly half-tradition-but-not-really to stumble across it for a hot chocolate and a German sausage or two.
The Ballets
A lifelong dream of mine as a child was to perform in the Nutcracker Ballet, since the day I first watched Barbie play her on video. I still haven't actually gone to see it yet, but there are so many different ones on thoughout the year. It just seems a little more magical at Christmas time.
Ice skating at the Natural History Museum.
I decided that for my recent birthday, myself and my favourite people would take to the ice in the heart of London. I can't skate. I did try. A little. It was a fabulous start to the evening however and I would certainly recommend it if you have an hour to kill!
I think I've captured a few things in one here so this shall be the end. Do let me know if you have any other festive favourite activities.

Until the 22nd of August 2017, I, an established blogger, had never tried avocado. After a 9am press event with @mariajblogs, we headed on down to Notting Hill and seated up at Farm Girl Cafe. Then the bloggers in us appeared.
We brought out our Olympus Pen E-PL8s and changed from the 45mm to the pancake 14-42mm lens. We chose avocado on toast and drinks that would be instagrammable as hell. Maria chose the Rose Latte whilst I opted for a hot chocolate, with apparently some interesting art on top. It's a mushroom obviously.
The place itself is lovely, and the decor is blogger heaven. Sit outside for the best lighting and the chance for one of those pink tables.
Not too long ago, I headed up London for the Blogosphere Blog Awards 2017. Now, popping to London isn't out of the ordinary for me, and venturing out of East/Central to the West has started to happen alot more recently. I've had a certain place/shop/heaven in mind for a while now but never had the chance to go. You already know where I'm talking about. It's the blogger's favourite place. For photos and instagrams Peggy Porschen is a need to, not just a want to.

We got there about half 4, so the wealthy were out in force and there was no where to sit outside unfortunately. We grabbed the last table inside and I ordered a Strawberry and Champagne cupcake. For a fiver, this was the most I've ever spent for a minute's food satisfaction. However, it was a pretty darn good cake I must say!
I can't stress enough how it's been a checklist thing to come here and I'm super glad I could do it with another blogger, Anna, an appreciator of the insta grid goals.
